We make reinforced concrete bases and plinths that are specially designed and constructed to carry electrical apparatus, for use in both full package substations and mini substations. These are constructed to the customer’s bespoke needs – we can make any design or size, to carry any apparatus that may be required.

Civil Work

We have the manpower, expertise and machinery to undertake site excavations and groundworks in order to create joint bays, locate utilities, add cables or carry out CAT scan surveys. Once the work has been done, we’ll backfill and reinstate the surface, whether its tarmac, slabs, concrete or gravel paths, leaving a clean and tidy end result.

We’re always available, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to ensure our customers’ sites are kept safe and secure. Not only can our customers be assured of a good job, they’re guaranteed a speedy response too as we always aim to get to the site and secure it within 2 hours.

Whether a gate’s been damaged, a padlock’s been forgotten, or the site has been broken into – we’re on hand. We can repair anything that’s broken, clear any debris, rectify any graffiti or vandalism, or erect temporary fencing. Once the site has been made secure, we can return and make any temporary solutions more permanent by erecting permanent fencing or fitting new gates.

Concrete Repairs

We are one of only very few companies who are authorised to work in substations up to 132kV. Our specialist operatives can undertake any type of concrete repair project, including doors, windows, lintels, bases and plinths. Our team are fully qualified, fully trained and very experienced in accessing these high-risk environments.

Doors

We can supply and fit secure steel entry and escape doors and frames, to any specification. We can also supply and fit internal fire doors, grilles and louvred vents, and are authorised to remove and dispose of asbestos-lined fire doors.

Fencing

Our fencing team supply and fit bespoke specialist security gates and fencing to our customers’ exact specifications – in Expmet, timber feather edge or steel palisade. In addition, we can also reinstate any domestic fencing that may have been damaged in the line of work.

Mancetter Gravel

Mancetter gravel is the perfect base in substations due to its earthing properties, helping to maximise site safety. We can supply and lay it, or just supply it, depending on what our customers need. The end result is a clean, tidy and easy to manage surface that also looks good.

Substation Maintenance

We undertake any type of general maintenance work for primary substations up to 132kV and distribution substations up to 11kV – from plumbing, roofing and brickwork to painting and clearing overgrowth.

GRP Grids

Glass Reinforced Plastic grids are more popular than traditional concrete trench covers as they allow the cables in the ground to be accessed much more easily, and also have earthing properties, making them safer. We can remove any old concrete covers and replace them with GRP grids.

Cable Pulling

Cable pulling requires specialist equipment and a skilled team – we have both. We have our own cable trailers and cable pulling machinery and can also collect and deliver cable drums. In confined or awkward spaces our team of experienced operatives are able to lay the cables by hand effectively.

Concrete Cutting, Sawing and Drilling

Whether our clients need a small hole drilled, apertures cut out, or concrete cubes cut and removed so that cables can be laid easily and safely – our specialist team and high-tech equipment will get the job done professionally and securely.

Our Hilti concrete cutting saw ensures no vibrations or dust, critical in a substation environment with live cables. It enables cubes of concrete to be cut out and removed at regular intervals, to allow efficient cable laying.
